The 2025-2026 school year marks Mr. Burns's 21st year teaching band at Chillicothe City Schools. He has directed 5th-12th grades concert bands throughout his career. Additionally, he has directed percussion ensemble, jazz band, marching band, and pep band. Mr. Burns earned his Bachelors degree in Music Education from Ohio University. While at OU, he completed a percussion performance certificate and performed an honors concert. He also earned his Masters degree in Education from Wright State University. Mr. Burns is currently the drummer for the Chillicothe Baptist Church Praise Band. Mr. Burns has also performed with the Chillicothe Big Band, the Goosetown Astonishers, numerous pit ensembles for musicals, and served as the assistant director for the Lions Club All-State Band for multiple years.
